    Upper Mid Stile Question

i am using autocad 2006 and microvellum 65.7.225

anyways here is my situation. when i make a 2 door upper wall cabinet there is not a stile in the middle of the cabinet between the doors. i can go into the spread sheet and put one in the subassembly of the face frame by putting a 1 in the qty cell of the upper mid stile. ok. this works fine. but when i also put a one door upper wall cabinet in the same job then it gets the upper mid stile also when it is not supposed to have one.

is there a formula to put in the spread sheet that will make the cell have a value of 1 only when the product has 2 doors.

    thanks.

The original face frame library had that problem. What you need to do is add a prompt called "Mid_Stile" to every 2 door cabinet. Give it a control type 4 to make it a checkbox. Then in the Qty formula of the Mid Stile change to "=IF(ISERR(L!Mid_Stile),0,L!Mid_Stile)".

    Lenny,

How do you tell which version of a library you are using and is there updated FF library in which this problem has been corrected?

    Re: Upper Mid Stile Question

The current libraries you have really don't have a "version" number. All you can do is look at your library data in Windows Explorer and see what dates they are to get an idea of the age. When the new Microvellum version 6.5 is officially released, we will also be releasing two new libraries that take advantage of the 6.5 interface enhancements. These libraries will start having version numbers. And yes, the new FF Library has the mid stile option. You can expect to see all this released sometime between now and the Vegas trade show next month.

    Re: Upper Mid Stile Question

I can not personally speak for version 7. But I can speak for 6.5 since I’ve been using it full time for the last 6 months. Think of it as a stepping stone between V6 & V7. It addresses many of the concerns & problems Microvellum users have had.  Trust me. You will see this released sometime in the next month. I have it on my computer right now! And I marvel every day of the things I am now able to do with it. I can’t wait for you guys (& gals) on this forum community to have it! We have some secret surprises in store for you to enjoy when you upgrade.  And trust me. You will be marveling too.
