    Extruded Countertop Changes Quote

We are manufacturers of commerical Countertops for the past 11 years.  We have added MV to enable us to expand our product offers to include cabinets and related products.  We are also looking to use MV with our new Anderson router to also increase efficiencies in maufacturing Countertops.  We have found that the frameless library does not include everything that we need for Countertops.  We have been able to address most of these problems through MV Support, assistance from the company that sold us MV, and through training.

Specifically, there is only one library product that does tight joint fastners.  In  this part of the program,  butt joints for the fasteners are only produced when tops run horizonially.  If you have a top with a 90 degree leg to right or left, the joint is a mitered joint and we have been told the only way to correct is to redraw.  We would like to see if possible to change this product to enable butt joints and to get quotes to do so.

If this is not correct forumn to request this, please advise where we should post.

    Mike,

It seems to me this is very possible (it's the way we do it), but you need to not use the extruded product.  Instead, place them in each as a single product, figuring out the  correct lengths yourself as you drop them in.  The machining would have to be handled with a few global variables you'd have to add, and local prompts in the products that you would create. This would take some custom product knowledge, but it would be a good thing for your head MV person to take on.  that way, they know it intimately, and can train others how it needs to be used to produce the desired result.  Good luck.
