    Material file #NAME error

I am having a problem with my material files. The doors on my cabinets are not being displayed because of a #NAME? error associated with that material. I've tried going into the material file to define the name, but everything looks fine. Any ideas? Thanks.

Please be more specific. Exactly where in what cell or what interface are you getting the name error. This could be the result of many things. Lets narrow it down.

OK, the problem is deeper than expected. The error is occurring when I recall M!Door_Edges. I've looked in the material file and the name exists. Why it is returning a #NAME error, I don't know.

    Re: Material file #NAME error

Delete the pointer from your material file. Create it again from scratch. Refer to it again from wherever it is that you are trying to call upon it, but pay close attention to the spelling and capitalization. See what happens.......

The materials are looking OK now. But now I am getting an #N/A error for this formula:

    =VLOOKUP(M!Hinges_For_Cab_Doors,LookUpTableHingeParameters,2,FALSE)

    Re: Material file #NAME error

We need to back up and figure out why this problem occured in the first place. What did you do differently before becoming aware of this first #name error?  We can hunt through all of these errors an "refresh" all of the formulas but that doesn't help us from preventing it occuring again. You are posting in the "new user" forum, how long have you had the software and has it been fully set up yet? What version are you running? Are these errors that have existed since day 1? Who set up your material files & look up tables.......also when?
