    V9+ "Product Sumary Report" Bug

I have updated my reprots lately to the Version 9+ reports and am using Crystal 11.5 now.  I am writing this because I have found a strange occurance with the "Product Sumary Reports".  When there are 3 or more pages of cabinets or around 25 +/- cabinets in the report; the width, height, depth and finished ends get juggled around and are never consistantly lined up with eachother.

    Example

    143    2 Door Base
    Left_Fin_End       width 914             Right_Fin_end      Depth 600        Height 864

    144    Open Upper
    Depth 300           Right_Fin_end      Width   914          Height 762        Left_Fin_End

This could get confusing fast for the shop

    Anyone else experience this?

I want to revive this tread wondering if there's anyone out there that's having the same problem.  This is a report downloaded straight from the Microvellum site.

Yes, our reports have the same problem. No rhyme or reason as to the order of Width, Height, and Depth. On our most recent job, however, every case's dimensions are listed the same (Width, Height, Depth). I don't get it Confused. I'm thinking it may have to do with the order in which you enter values in the prompts screen..?

Yes, the "Product Summary Report" report is getting a select group of prompt info from the prompt's page. As Microvellum doesn't have any control over the prompt (prompt is user definable), so the report is pulling the selected info in the order of you enter the prompts value.

I would suggest you take a look at the "Job Summary Report". It contains three formulas: "Reset", "Accumulated", and "Display" which allow us to pull the correct prompt in the order of what we want.

     Hope this helps.

     Thanks.

Do you mean look at it using Crystal Reports, not Overdrive Pro? We don't use Crystal Reports, so custom report editing is not an option for us. Is it possible for the next release of the Product Detail Report to display values in a fixed order? In the Complete Package verson 12 (2008)?

Now wait now, the order that I enter the prompts in Microvellum?  If I process reports containing only 10 products +/-, all the prompts are in order from product to product.  This situation just seems to happen when I start generating a larger amount of cabinets at around 25 or more.

Wait, you're right. It only gets disorganized as the quantity increases. I just thought I was extra dilligent with this last job, but it only had 15 products. The pattern is the same with previous jobs as well.

    The plot thickens...

Re: V9+ "Product Sumary Report" Bug

    Hello All,

I really should put it this way: the display order depends on the sequece of the prompts being defined. And crystal report sometimes check for the string, and reposition in the "Details" section. So there are two variables to control the display orders.

That is why I suggest the "Job Summary Report" rather than this report. We might replace "Product Summary Report" with a new one later. Watch the download section...

    Hope that helps. Thanks.

Re: V9+ "Product Sumary Report" Bug

The "job summary report" is OK other than the fact that it gets hard to read when quite a few products are listed.  My shop employees seem to favor the format of the "Product Sumary Report".  I might try to check the formulas tied in the "Job Summary Report" to see if I can make the "Product Summary Reort" behave the same way.  Otherwise, I'll keep my eyes peeled on the downloads page.
