After you successfully registered and activated your Autodesk product with a valid serial number, you noticed that the product serial number was still displayed as "000-00000000."
The affected products and the applicable registry keys that you need to modify in order to resolve this problem are listed in the Products Affected by 000-00000000 Serial Number Issue.html file attached below.
Before you attempt to edit the registry, you should first try launching the product again to see if the problem has been resolved. If the issue persists, you should use the procedure below.
To replace the blank serial number with your valid, purchased serial number
The next time you launch the corresponding Autodesk product(s), the serial number(s) will be updated.
Note: Because Autodesk® Raster Design 2007 is bound to a specific product, the "5xxx" value is dependent upon that product. For example, if Raster Design 2007 was installed with AutoCAD® 2007, the value will read "5001"; if it was installed with Architectural Desktop 2007, the value will read "5004."
Warning! Problems caused by improperly editing the Windows® registry could render your computer operating system unusable. Microsoft has provided a wealth of critical information you need to know about the registry in the Microsoft Knowledge Base at http://support.microsoft.com/support.
Use the Microsoft® Registry Editor only at your own risk and only after backing up the registry as well as the system.dat and user.dat files as outlined in ARTICLE-ID: Q132332 "How to Back Up the Registry" in the Microsoft Knowledge Base. Additional information about the registry is also contained in the Help topics in the Microsoft Registry Editor.
