    Just gotta get this last stinkin' step....

    Well, after M-U-C-H consternation, I have set up my labels for use at my router's label printer.  Then, when I try and open the file using ALIS at the router's computer, (no MV on that machine, just ALIS) I immediately get an error "No Current Record."  Angry

    Stepping back a little bit: I nested the parts in AutoCAD, and was told by MV that when you nest in AutoCAD, you always select "Print Labels from Nest" and not from "Cutlist." Just to rule it out, I did try printing from the Cutlist, but nothing happened, probably because I didn't process reports in Overdrive for this particular instance.

    Stepping back further: I pulled the label printer out of the router and connected it to my workstation.  I did this so I could format the labels using Crystal Reports at my workstation...did that, and the labels print great.  The Crystal Reports file is now formatted with that report using the "local" USB driver for the label printer.  All job info is on the server, by the way, and the labels still print ok at my workstation.

     When I put ALIS on the router's computer (several weeks ago), I did so using a disc that was sent to me.  That didn't work, so after calling Tech Support I downloaded a file from the website (kinda defeated the purpose of waiting a week get the disc Confused

    What other info does anyone need to help me print my labels at the router using ALIS?

    Hello neeboy,

    Please make sure you generate the gcode for the nest before you try to print any label from the nest. "No Current Record" indicates that the database is not available. Also make sure you pick the correct job & correct phase. On the left window, that is where you pick the job folder (job folder only); on the right window, that is where you pick the release folder (whatever release folder you assigned by the time you generate the g-code).

    There are couple things that you can check as well:

    1. Make sure the Alis version is same as your workstation's Microvellum version;

    2. When you plug the printer back to the nesting machine, print a test page before you try to print from Alis to ensure the printer is working.

    If you still have issue, please give tech support a call. Thanks.

    Feng
