Solid Stock Unit of Measure - Master Take-Off Report

We're measuring all our material usage (per job) to maintain FSC certification. The Master Take-Off Report has been extremely useful for this, however, it's lacking in the Solid Stock total.

    Here's an example:

    Solid Stock

Thickness     Material Name                                             Material Code              Unit of Measure               Amount

    0.75                   3/4 Cherry                                                                                                                                         0

The way I'm interpreting this is, because there's no Unit of Measure defined, the report doesn't generate a value for Amount.

Why not use Board Feet by default? It's the standard for solid material.

We don't have Crystal Reports, so we're not able modify the report templates. And it seems silly to pay MV to do custom report editing for something that should be present from the get-go. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it's not an issue during our annual audit...

Any ideas for a fix? Can this be corrected in the next batch of report templates?

Our goal is to make estimating and reporting easier.  In the meantime having it customized by MV or getting Crystal Reports is the only way to get that report changed.  In our soon to be released v67, you can make your own reports without using Crystal Reports!!!  No release date at this time.

    Rivendell,

FYI,  as i noticed your using v6.6  now:

The ability to create your own reports is available now in beta format (V6.7) and for us, it has been a godsend.

    pkupman_77,

I'm glad to hear the new report features are working out for you. What an excellent development!

As far as beta testing v67 goes... our company doesn't have either the time or resources to A) make a productive contribution to the beta development community, or B) make a beta product useful for us. We'll stand by the sidelines and wait for a general release - when all the bugs are worked out and we can have full technical support - then invest in customizing the library to suit our long-term needs. We're going for gold! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_release_life_cycle

Nonetheless, it's helpful to hear from those who are using the latest and greatest. I'm frequently lurking in the Beta Software forum... that's where the exciting action is 'round here

    Best,

    Riv
