In the summer of 1987, I started woodworking at the age of 13 in Albuquerque, NM. Sweeping and cleaning toilets. At 18 I started a side business called JTW Woodworks, doing odd side jobs in the evenings and weekends. At age 21 went to work for a commercial company drafting and engineering with Pattern Systems and 20/20. At age 24, started second business called Absolute Drafting. While freelance drafting, I ran into Microvellum through a company that wanted me to draft for them. Dave Peel taught the class as Richard Laycock ran around doing "lord knows what." In 2000, I moved to Phoenix, AZ to engineer for a residential company for a year. In 2001, I moved to Spokane, WA and started my third business, Casework Drafting Services. I outsource specifically for customers of Microvellum and also Microvellum themselves. After five years of being self-employed I have decided to work directly for Microvellum.
