This is awesome. Are you rendering in AutoCAD? I can't seem to get my renderings to look as real as yours. I suppose I still have a lot to learn about rendering. Fabulous drawings though
Hey Jake,
I am actually using Accurender for most of my renderings. It works within AutoCAD and it has advanced lighting and raytracing/radiosity features. It generates the renderings very slowly but the results are very good.
AutoCAD is using Mental Ray as a rendering engine for creating the renderings which is more advanced than Raytrace, although it takes less time to generate the rendering it takes time to figure out all the little tricks to generate photo-realistic renderings with it.
The reason I am using Accurender instead of AutoCAD's new rendering engine is due to my older setups. All materials, lighting and scenes are preset so when I am done with the models it takes no time for me to proceed with the rendering. I also have rendering slaves/farm so I run the renderings over long period of processing times, some times overnight to achieve maximum quality.
Rendering is fun after you go trough the learning curve, just like Microvellum. So keep at it and you will get there.
