So everyone has a way of doing their shop drawings. 3D drawings are nice but 2D details are the king when it comes to a shop drawing and translating the manufacturing information so anyone can read it. It doesn’t matter what language you speak the 2D shop drawings are universal. So here is my way of saying "nightstand". The idea is to draw it in 3D with all the G-codes attached and then somehow extract the 2D details out of the model. I use the "sectionplane" command of AutoCAD to achieve this. I know some users use the "clipping plane" command to achieve the same. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
So here is a question: any strong thoughts on one way over the other? Or has anyone found another way of doing this?
